Bluff glass takes the most salt
On homes above Big Corona, Little Corona, China Cove and Inspiration Point, ocean-facing panes get salt spray almost every day. You notice it most in the late afternoon, when the sun drops toward the water and the haze lights up. Those panes, and the glass railings and doors that open onto terraces, are usually where we start.
A pure-water final rinse matters here. Regular tap water would leave its own mineral spots on top of the salt we just removed.
The Village and the Flower Streets
A few blocks inland, on Marguerite, Poppy, Larkspur and the rest, the salt eases off but other problems start. Gardens are watered daily, so lower panes facing planters collect hard-water spots. Morning marine layer settles on the glass and dries into a film with whatever dust is in the air. Many newer homes here have big black aluminum frames that show every drip. We clean the frames, tracks and sills along with the glass.
Narrow lots, careful access
CdM side yards can be just a few feet wide, with a neighbor’s fence on one side and your landscaping on the other. We choose ladders or water-fed poles for each elevation, protect plantings and stage the truck so we don’t block narrow streets or alleys.
How often to clean in CdM
Bluff-top and ocean-facing homes usually do best with monthly service. Village homes often do well on a quarterly plan. Either way, plan clients get scheduled visits with no re-quoting.
